Fused Glass Wind Chimes

About the Class

Spend a fun-filled, creative session making your very own fused-glass wind chimes!

During this three-hour workshop, you’ll design a colourful wind chime featuring five handcrafted glass chimes suspended beneath a decorative fused-glass panel. Once assembled, your finished piece will add colour, movement and a gentle tinkling sound to your garden, porch or favourite outdoor space.

What You'll Learn

You’ll be introduced to the colourful art of fused glass—the process of arranging and melting compatible glass pieces together to create a finished work of art.

Our friendly instructor will guide you through selecting your materials, planning your design and assembling each part of your wind chime for kiln firing. No previous glassworking or artistic experience is required.

What You'll Make

You’ll create fused-glass chimes and a decorative hanging panel using a vibrant selection of glass frit, dots, noodles and stringers.

Follow our examples or let your imagination lead the way as you create a design that reflects your own artistic style. Your completed wind chime will be both a visual and auditory delight as it dances in the breeze and produces its gentle, cheerful sound.

Each chime measures approximately 6 inches long, and the decorative panel measures approximately 6 inches wide by 2¾ inches high.

Please note: Fused-glass projects require kiln firing and finishing, a process that can take up to 16 hours. Your wind chime will be fired and assembled after the workshop and will be available for pickup at our studio approximately one week after your workshop date. It will not be available to take home on the day of your session.
