Family-Raised Bernese Mountain Dogs in Niagara

Victory Ridge Registered Bernese Mountain Dogs is a small, family-run kennel situated in Beamsville, Ontario, in the heart of the Niagara Region. We live on a large rural property where our Berners have plenty of room to exercise, explore and simply enjoy being dogs.

We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Ontario, and our breeding dogs are CKC registered.

Our focus is straightforward: to raise healthy, well-socialized Bernese Mountain Dogs in a family environment and thoughtfully match our puppies with loving, responsible homes.

Our Berners

We currently have two females in our breeding program, Reis and Ro. Both are very much part of our family and enjoy life with us on our rural property.

Both Reis and Ro were bred in mid-May to Balsam, a stud from another breeder, with Ro successfully becoming pregnant.

We believe responsible breeding begins with understanding the health of the dogs in our breeding program. Our breeding dogs have undergone OFA health testing.

We are excited to welcome Ro's first litter, born July 15, 2026.

Ro had four beautiful puppies — three girls and one boy. They will be ready to begin joining their new families after September 9, 2026.

Both Ro and Balsam are CKC registered and have undergone health testing as part of their respective breeding programs.

Raised as Part of Our Family

At Victory Ridge, we believe the first eight to nine weeks of a puppy's life are incredibly important.

Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our family, not isolated from normal household life. From their first day, they are accustomed to being handled and spending time around my wife and me and our children.

As they grow, the puppies are gradually introduced to other children, adults, cats and dogs. Ro's half-sister, Reis, is also part of our household and has the opportunity to interact with Ro and her puppies.

Living in a busy family home exposes the puppies to the everyday sights, sounds and activities they will encounter as family pets. Our goal is to give each puppy a positive start and help them develop into confident, well-adjusted companions.

What Goes Home With Your Puppy

Before leaving Victory Ridge for their new families, our puppies are:

  • CKC registered
  • Veterinarian checked
  • Microchipped
  • Wormed
  • Given their first vaccinations
  • Sold with a non-breeding contract
  • Covered by a written one-year health guarantee

We also provide feeding and nutrition guidance to help make the transition to your home as smooth as possible.

Finding the Right Family

Finding the right home for each puppy is extremely important to us.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for their affectionate, gentle and loyal personalities, but they are also large, powerful dogs. Prospective owners need to understand the commitment involved in providing appropriate training, exercise, grooming, nutrition and veterinary care throughout their dog's life.

We generally meet prospective families through an interview and litter visit. This allows you to meet us, Ro and the puppies, see the environment in which they are being raised and ask questions about the breed. Just as importantly, it gives us an opportunity to learn about you, your family and the home you can provide.

Ideally, a Berner will not be your first experience owning a dog. We look for prospective families who can demonstrate:

  • A loving, stable and permanent home
  • An appropriate lifestyle and living environment for a large-breed dog
  • An understanding of the training and socialization required
  • A commitment to ongoing exercise and grooming
  • The financial ability to provide quality food, training and veterinary care
  • A commitment to making their Berner a lifelong member of the family

We reserve the right to decline an adoption if we believe a particular home or situation is not the right fit for one of our puppies.

Our Commitment to Our Dogs

Our responsibility to our puppies doesn't end when they leave Victory Ridge.

Our adoption agreement includes a take-back and rehoming clause. If circumstances change and you are ever unable to continue caring for your Victory Ridge Berner, we want to be involved in ensuring that the dog is safely and responsibly rehomed.

Our puppies are sold as companion dogs with non-breeding rights and are required to be spayed or neutered once they have reached an appropriate age for the procedure. We require confirmation once this has been completed.

New owners are also asked to provide the name of their veterinarian at the time of adoption.

We strongly encourage puppy and obedience training for the benefit of both the dog and owner and are happy to recommend trainers and dog schools in our area.
